Terms of service

Last updated 4 October 2026

About these terms

These terms apply when you use this website or join the Hey Nellie waitlist. The website is run by Sophia Abanador (“Hey Nellie”, “we”, “us”). By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

Who can use the website

The website and waitlist are for adults. You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to join the waitlist. Children shouldn’t submit the form.

The waitlist

  • Joining is free.
  • Joining doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be offered a place, or when, or on what terms or price.
  • We may open places in any order, and we may change or close the waitlist.
  • You can leave at any time by replying to any of our emails or writing to abanadorsophia@gmail.com.

How we handle the details you give us is explained in our privacy policy.

What the website describes

Hey Nellie is still being built. The descriptions, lesson samples and illustrations on this website show what we’re working towards; the finished product may differ. Nothing on the website is professional educational, medical or developmental advice. Research we mention is summarized for general information, and we link or cite the sources so you can read them yourself.

When Hey Nellie’s tutoring opens, it will have its own terms and privacy notice, which you’ll be asked to accept before you or your child use it.

Using the website fairly

Please don’t:

  • submit someone else’s details without their permission;
  • sign up automatically, in bulk, or with false information;
  • try to disrupt, overload or get unauthorized access to the website or the systems behind it;
  • use the website in a way that breaks the law.

We may remove waitlist entries or block access if these terms are broken.

Our content

The text, illustrations, design, the Hey Nellie name and logo, and the Nellie character, belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You’re welcome to view and share links to the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don’t copy or reuse our content commercially without our written permission. Research and other works we cite belong to their authors.

Links to other websites

We may link to other websites, such as research we cite. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or how they handle your information.

No warranty

We work to keep the website accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the website or the waitlist, and because both are free, our total liability to you for any claim about them is limited to US$50. Nothing in these terms limits any liability or consumer right that can’t be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the website changes. We’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If you keep using the website after that, the new terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. If you’re a consumer, you also keep any protections the law where you live gives you.
